“The change starts within each one of us, and ends only when all children are free to be children.” –Craig Kielburger
There are a few solutions to terminate child labor. One solution is having the world become aware of this social issue. A reason that child labor is still occurring, is because people do not know much information about child labor to take initiative to stop it. We need the world to comprehend how many child laborers there really are, the ages the children are, the effects of this issue on the generations to come, and the despicable conditions the young children work in. Hopefully this will inspire activists to end this international dilemma.
Additionally, people can yearly donate to UNICEF, a foundation that helps supply kids food, clothing, and health care. UNICEF saves many children’s lives internationally. Any monetary donation helps these overworked children and their families. We should all start donation drives at school and at work. With the money donated, children won't have to work for compensation since they are supplied by UNICEF.
Another way to end child labor is creating rules that prohibit child laborers unless they are 16 years or older. They can only work 6 hours a day total. If children under 16 are found working jobs, the owner should either have to pay a large fine or serve a sentence in jail. To end child labor, the government and rulers must support our actions toward ending child labor. Another requirement is that we need enough money to fund all of the families living in poverty so none of their children have to work. There is a way to abolish child labor, but to accomplish this, everyone must work together.
